Quilcom SIM-KORA
Someone asked if I could have a go at simulating a Kora instrument. A Kora is an unusual West African instrument, with origins dating back at least 300 years. It has a vertical floating bridge with strings passing on both sides. The player holds the handles, one in each hand, and plucks the strings just using the thumb and index fingers of both hands. The sound box is half a large gourd with drum-like animal skin laid over it, onto which the bridge is mounted.
Click on the picture to download the zip. It contains 4 Windows plugins; VST2 32 and 64 bit, a VST2 32 bit plugin for XP users and a 64 bit VST3 plugin. For some browsers you may need to right-click on the picture and choose to save the link.
The download includes a User Guide and the FlowStone schematic, so if you have FlowStone 3.06 or later, you can open it and see how it works and make use of anything inside.
NOTE: this plugin, like several other Quilcom plugins, needs you to render/freeze/bounce at 1x online. This is due to some internal control processing not being sample rate related. Higher sample rates should work but 1x render will still be required.
